No Global Entry?
Breeze Through Immigration with the Mobile Passport App! Skip the long customs lines by using the CBP Mobile Passport Control (MCP) app—an official app from U.S. Customs & Border Protection that speeds up your entry.
Why Use It?
-
Fast-track your passport info right from your phone
-
Skip the traditional paperwork and long lines at many U.S. airports. Last time we were in and out in 15 minutes!
-
Completely free and easy to use
-
📌 Important: Before you travel, check the app to make sure your arrival airport accepts Mobile Passport. Not all airports participate, so it’s good to confirm in advance!
-
👉 Pro tip: Download the app and fill out your customs form as soon as you land while departing the plane — you’ll save valuable time!
Arrive early to enjoy the resort from day 1
Want to get the most out of your all-inclusive stay? Book a flight that arrives before 12 PM—ideally arriving as early as 6–7 AM. That way, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, pool time, and drinks on your very first day, instead of paying the daily resort rate just to show up in time for dinner.
-
Arriving in cancun in the AM, immigration lines are so fast!
-
Our resort will let you use the facilities (bars, pools, restaurants) even if your room isn’t ready yet
-
Ask about a get ready room or shower area you can use to freshen up
-
Early check-in is often available
📌 Tip: Consider taking a red-eye flight the night before so you land early and start relaxing ASAP.
✈️ If you can only arrive at night, you might save money by:
-
Staying at an airport hotel that night
-
Transferring to the resort early the next morning to make the most of your first full day
-
Ask us about this and we can connect you with our Travel Agent
Skip the Checked Bag
Thinking of checking a bag? Think again. Cancun Airport is known for long customs and baggage claim lines — sometimes up to 2–3 hours during peak times.
-
You’ll skip the wait at baggage claim and head straight to immigration
-
Carry-on bags get you out of the airport and to the resort way faster
-
Less risk of lost or delayed luggage
-
Fewer chances of theft or tampering — this is Mexico, and while rare, things can go missing anywhere in transit
📌 Tip: Pack light, and use a carry-on + personal item to breeze through.
Get a Row to Yourselves
Flying with someone? Book the window and aisle seats — and leave the middle open.
-
Most people avoid picking middle seats, so it might stay empty - so far it's worked for us every time!
-
On a red-eye flight, having that empty middle seat gives you so much extra room to stretch and sleep
Day of Your Flight:
-
Check the app to see if the middle seat got booked
-
If it didn’t — enjoy the space!
-
If it did, you can either switch to new seats or politely ask the person in the middle to swap (most are happy to move over)
-
If you have the United credit card, you can check and change seats for free in the app closer to takeoff
📌 A small trick that makes a big difference — especially when you're flying overnight.
Check your passport validity
Mexico requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Since our wedding is on November 13, 2026, make sure your passport is valid through at least May 2027.
-
Airlines and border agents may deny boarding or entry if your passport expires too soon
-
Renew early to avoid last-minute stress or delays
📌 Tip: Start the renewal process now — it can take several weeks!
Smoking | Know before you go
Mexico has gotten stricter about smoking regulations, especially at Cancun Airport. When you arrive to the Cancun Airport, bags are frequently scanned or checked, and checked again and items like vapes, cigarettes, or lighters are often flagged.
-
Don’t pack smoking items in visible or easy-to-reach spots — hide them deep in your luggage
-
If security finds them, you’ll usually just need to pay a small customs tax (not a huge deal, but avoidable)
-
Rules change often, so it’s best to limit what you bring and check current guidelines before traveling
